What Health Check helps people understand and compare private health checks in the UK.
The private health-check market has grown rapidly. Consumers can now choose from blood tests, clinician-led assessments, advanced screening packages, whole-body MRI scans and technology-led health checks – often costing anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand pounds.
The problem is that they can be surprisingly difficult to compare.
Providers use different terminology, include different tests and levels of clinical support, and don't always present their services in a way that makes like-for-like comparison easy.
That's why we created What Health Check.
We research health checks from providers across the UK and standardise the information so people can understand what is included, how the check works, what happens afterwards and what they're actually getting for their money.

The site is produced by a small team of journalists and medical experts, combining editorial research and consumer-focused journalism with appropriate medical expertise.
Our job isn't to sell people the most expensive health check. It's to help them understand the choices and decide whether a particular service is right for them.
